Another Code 3 AKA Trace Memory 3 confirmed by Cing

Another Code wallpaper (Trace Memory 2)
Another Code 3, also known as Trace Memory 3, has been confirmed for Wii by developer Cing in this interview with Game and Scenario designer Rika Suzuki.

Even though the second game in the series for the Wii has yet to see a release in North America or Australia, only hitting Europe, it’s good for fans to know that another new one is coming.

To quote from the interview:

CAUTION – CONTAINS SPOILERS – DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT PORTIONS OF THE WII GAME SPOILED

C3: The conclusion to Matt’s story about his missing father seemed very rushed and unfulfilling. Was his story concluded so briefly at the end due to time constraints during development? Or will we learn more about Matt and his father in a future Another Code game?

Rika SUZUKI, Game Design and Scenario at Cing: The story of Matt is not complete at this moment. Matt has now established a close friendship with Ashley, just as D did in the original Another Code. However, there is a huge difference between D and Matt in that D is already dead and all he has is his past. Matt, on the other hand, has a grand future ahead of him from which to use as source material. In terms of the potential for Matt’s story in the future, we are definitely going to express his entire storyline through the world of Another Code, including how his friendship develops with Ashley and more on the story of his father, Michael.

True Blood Videogame trademarked by HBO

Posted: 15 Sep 2009 09:14 PM PDT

True Blood wallpaper (HBO TV Show)
A True Blood videogame may be coming, as HBO as filed a trademark for just that.

The trademark actually reads:

“…amusement apparatus and games adapted for use with television receivers or with video or computer monitors, video games, computer games, game programs, video game discs, video game cartridges, video game CD-ROMs, video game cassettes, handheld video game devices, games, online games and electronic games.”

No word on what platforms the game would hit, a release date or developer or any other info was included in the filing.

True Blood is a critically acclaimed (Golden Globe-winning) drama show about the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small Louisiana town. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). The show was created by Alan Ball (The movie American Beauty, the TV Show Six Feet Under).

SKATE 3 release date announced for May 2010 on Xbox 360 and PS3

Posted: 15 Sep 2009 08:54 PM PDT

Skate 3 logo. Release date is May 2010 for Xbox 360 & PS3
SKATE 3 will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in May of 2010 announced Electronic Arts.

SKATE 3 promises to break new ground by taking all of the camaraderie and competitive excitement of real-life skateboarding and brings it to the hands of gamers. Whether online or offline, players can now team up to build the ultimate skate crew in the definitive skateboarding co-op experience. In SKATE 3, players take part in team-based challenges, compete against rival crews and leave their mark on the all-new skater’s paradise, Port Carverton.

In the new co-op mode, teammates can complete challenges together while advancing each other’s careers. From rewarding epic bails and fails with a beefed up Hall of Meat mode to honing your craft with the all-new skate.School, players of all skill levels have multiple ways to “kill it” in the game. The franchise also continues to raise the bar for user created content with the skate. Create feature suite, an innovative toolset that empowers gamers to truly express their skate style by creating their own graphics, videos, and skate parks.

“The social and community aspects of the SKATE franchise are something we’ve always embraced, but we’ve never done anything to the scale you’re going to see in SKATE 3,” said Senior Producer, Jason DeLong. “We’re giving gamers a very unique experience by providing them with the tools they need to build their ultimate team or to create a team comprised entirely of their online friends. From there, it’s all about proving yourself – teaming up, and throwing down.”

Players who pre-order SKATE 3 get an unlock code that gives them exclusive access to the iconic Black Box Distribution Skate Park, home turf of Zero, Mystery, and Fallen skate teams. Black Box Distribution was founded in 2000 by Jamie Thomas, and houses and distributes some of skateboarding’s biggest selling brands.

Here is a teaser trailer for SKATE 3.

Panic in Monopoly City Streets online game after 1.7 million visitors in 1 week!

Posted: 15 Sep 2009 07:57 PM PDT

Monopoly: City Streets mass-online game
Panic has set in Monopoly City Streets after the game launched last week and had an astounding 1.7 million visitors in that short portion of time!

The stress caused on the free Google Maps browser-based worldwide-supercharged version of Monopoly was so much that it lead to slower servers, which in turn resulted in compromised data. So the developers are now going to “restart” the game. This includes taking it down on September 17th (two days from now) so that they can fix some of the biggest bugs in the game and other issues, including a few improvements, before bringing it back online.

To quote the developers:

“But, we’re not just restarting the game. We’ve made some improvements to the gameplay that we think address many of the concerns that you have brought to our attention while you played the game. We will provide additional details about these changes soon.

This restart does mean that everyone will be starting over with $3 million to spend and will need to register again.

Thank you all for your awesome support in the last few days. We appreciate all of the input, suggestions and most of all your patience.”

Star Ocean: The Last Hope also coming to PS3

Posted: 15 Sep 2009 07:43 PM PDT

Star Ocean: The Last Hope PS3 International version scan
Star Ocean: The Last Hope has been announced for PS3 in Japan as Star Ocean: The Last Hope International.

The previously Xbox 360-exclusive RPG will be released on February 4, 2010 for ¥8,190 (US$90). The game includes new features of the previous original that include reworked menu screens and a tweaked battle system that includes auto-targeting. It will also feature options for both English and Japanese voice acting.

There are no plans at the moment to release this game in the U.S., but since it includes English voice-overs and the PS3 is region-free, then that makes it a great candidate for import!
